Business development specialist interview questions

Ace the Interview

Interviews allow you to present yourself, demonstrate your communicate skills, and suggest how you can meet the employer’s needs directly.  They allow you to learn about the organization and position, which can help you determine if you are a good fit for the position and for the organization.

How Do You Prepare?

Research

Learn about the company by reading news articles, websites, and press releases. Find out what they are looking for so you can present related strengths.

Practice

Practice answering sample interview questions out loud with others such as a career development specialist. Identify five or more accomplishments and craft stories about them.

Prepare

Prepare a list of questions you want to ask the employer. Know the logistics: location, parking, and time of interview.

  • Why are you interested in our company/this position?
  • Tell me about your past work experiences/research.

Behavioral Questions

Behavioral questions focus on your actions and responses. Your answers describe how you handled a situation; use concrete, specific examples.
  • Tell me about a time when you exhibited teamwork?
  • Give me an example of a time you faced a challenge. How did you deal with it?
  • Tell me about a conflict you had with a professor, lab mate, or boss. Why was there a conflict? What did you do?

Case Interview Questions

In a case interview, the applicant is given a question, situation, problem, or challenge to resolve. The case problem is often a business situation the interviewer has worked on in real life. Case interviews are mostly
